Frequently Asked Questions
What information do you need to quote a custom gift box?
Please share the product size or required inside dimensions, box style, quantity, artwork, finish, insert needs and delivery country. We can then quote against a clear specification and show sample and shipping costs separately.
Can I start with a small batch of custom packaging?
A practical starting quantity depends on the structure, materials, printing and insert. Tell us your first-run quantity and likely reorder volume. We can compare suitable construction and finish options before confirming a minimum for your specific box.
Why should I request prices at more than one quantity?
Several quantity tiers show how setup costs affect the unit price. Keep the box size, board, print, finish and insert the same in every tier; otherwise you are comparing different products rather than a volume discount.
Does the quoted box price include shipping or DDP delivery?
Do not assume that a unit box price includes freight or destination charges. Ask for the scope of the quote, destination, shipping method and any requested delivery terms to be stated separately. Then compare total delivered cost on the same basis.
Should I choose a foldable or fixed magnetic gift box?
A foldable box may reduce storage and shipping volume; a fixed box has a different assembly and handling feel. Compare both with your actual product, including assembled appearance, protection, packing volume and assembly time, before choosing.
What is the difference between internal and external box dimensions?
External dimensions describe the space the package occupies. Internal dimensions describe the usable product space after board thickness and inserts are allowed for. For a good fit, share the actual product dimensions and confirm which dimensions are shown on the drawing.
How can an insert protect a fragile product?
The insert should support stable parts of the product and limit movement without pressing on delicate details. Send product measurements and photos of fragile areas. Final fit and protection should be checked with a physical sample and agreed handling tests.
Can one box hold products of different shapes and sizes?
Yes, the structure can be planned around the complete set, but the insert must account for each item and its removal order. Share a full packing list and samples or dimensions; leave room for any planned changes to the set.
Is a physical sample necessary before mass production?
For a new structure, insert fit or special finish, a physical sample is the safest approval point. Photos and video help review appearance, but they may not show hand feel or exact product fit. Agree what must be approved before production starts.
What artwork files should I send for a custom box?
Send the latest logo and print files, preferably in editable or vector form when available, together with the dieline or reference layout. Mark each design or SKU clearly and approve one final version before printing.
Will the printed box color match what I see on screen?
Screens and printed materials can look different. Supply a color reference and review a printed sample on the chosen material and finish. Approve the acceptable color range before production rather than relying only on a screen image.
How can I control cost without weakening the package?
Start with the protection and fit your product needs, then compare board, finish and insert options. Simplifying a decorative process may lower cost, but changes to strength or fit should be tested rather than assumed equivalent.
What details are needed to quote a custom paper bag?
Share bag width, depth and height, the product weight, paper preference, handle type, print coverage, quantity and delivery destination. A bag for a lightweight item may need a different construction from one carrying a rigid gift box.
Can several product variants use the same box structure?
They may share a dieline if the products have compatible dimensions and protection needs. Confirm whether only the artwork changes or the insert also changes. Quote shared and separate components clearly for each SKU.
Is a retail gift box enough for e-commerce shipping?
A presentation box and a mailer serve different purposes. Check the complete packed order, cushioning, closure and label area. If the gift box goes inside a mailer, test the two layers together rather than assuming the retail box can travel alone.
Can this gift box be used for food products?
First identify which layer directly touches the food, the food type and the destination market. Material suitability and required documents must be checked for that exact use. We should also confirm product size variation, tray fit and label space before finalizing the design.
When should I start a custom packaging project before launch?
Plan backward from the date the packages must arrive, not just the factory completion date. Allow time for specifications, sample approval, artwork, production and transport. Share your destination and target arrival date so the schedule can be checked.
How do I keep cards in place inside a drawer box?
Measure the cards and usable drawer depth, then design a recess or insert that holds the full set during opening. Test the ribbon pull and removal action with a physical sample, especially if several printed pieces are packed together.
Can you identify the exact board or flute from a photo?
A photo can show visible features but usually cannot confirm the exact board or corrugated flute inside an old box. If a close match matters, provide a physical sample along with product weight and stacking conditions so material selection can be verified.
What should I check after approving the packaging artwork?
Keep the approved artwork and sample version linked to the order. Agree whether first-piece photos will be provided, which angles they should show, and when packing details will be confirmed. Photos support appearance checks; strength or fit may still need physical verification.
