Choosing a Box Structure for a Beauty Gift Set

Magnetic, drawer, double-door or lid-and-base: what each structure does well, and the questions that decide which one fits your product.

Start from the product, not the picture

The structure follows three things: how many items go in the box, how heavy they are, and how you want the buyer to open it. Get those on paper first — everything else is finishing.

Magnetic flap boxes

The default for beauty sets. A magnetic flap gives a firm, quiet close and a flat lid surface for foil or embossing. Works with foam, EVA or paperboard inserts. Also available as a foldable version that ships flat.

Drawer and sliding boxes

A sleeve and a tray. Good for slim sets, sample kits and anything you want to reveal slowly. Ribbon pulls are common; the tray depth decides how well bottles stay in place.

Double-door boxes

Opens from the centre for a reveal moment. Popular for perfume and premium serum sets, and for advent-style programmes where both sides hold product.

Lid-and-base rigid boxes

Two separate pieces, the classic presentation box. Strong, simple, and the easiest structure to print edge to edge. Add a window if the product itself is the selling point.

Questions we will ask you

Product dimensions and weight. How many pieces per box. Whether the set will be shipped assembled or flat. Whether the box must survive e-commerce transit on its own, or sits inside a shipper.
