FSC Packaging: What the Claim Means and How to Check It
An FSC claim belongs to an order, not to a factory. Here is how to read a certificate code and verify a supplier in two minutes.
Certificate code vs licence code
A chain-of-custody certificate has two codes. The certificate code identifies the audit record. The licence code, written as FSC-C followed by six digits, is the one that may appear on your printed box.
How to verify a supplier
Open search.fsc.org, search either code, and read three things: the certificate holder's legal name and address, the status and expiry date, and whether other sites are listed under the same certificate. If the name on the certificate is not the company quoting you, ask why.

Getting the claim onto your order
